It’s also a chance to share our love for Australia’s stunning and pristine environments and highlight the safety risks of rock fishing along our coastline.  So get outdoors and experience the wonders of rock fishing safely.

    The first day of summer is now observed to encourage Australians to make water safety a priority.  Join us in highlighting the critical importance of water safety and promote key safety messages and information to help reduce drowning deaths and injuries across the country.

    Red & Yellow Day is a nationwide celebration to recognise the thousands of Surf Life Saving volunteers who dedicate their time to keeping our beaches safe. Now it’s our turn to show they can count on us, by simply wearing the colours on Red & Yellow Day.

  • 2027 Lifesaver Remembrance Day

    The surf lifesaving community honours the lifesavers and lifeguards who gave the ultimate sacrifice in their efforts to save others.  We ask everyone to take a minute to honour, reflect, and remember the selfless acts of heroism on our beaches that sadly led to tragedy

  • 2027 International Water Safety Day

    International Water Safety Day is designed to help spread global awareness of the ongoing drowning pandemic and educate the youth in becoming safer in and around water. May 15th is a day to spread drowning awareness and water safety education by any means possible. Let's vow to change that!

    National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This special event highlights the important role of volunteers in our community and invites people not currently volunteering to give it a go.  Thanks to all our awesome Surf Life Savers for all you do each year.

    World Oceans Day is marked to raise awareness of the crucial role marine environments play in our lives, including our amazing beaches, waterways and coastline.  Keep an eye out for rips, currents and tides, and remember every creature at the beach has it’s place.
