Lifesaving Excellence
Honouring our Rescue Services Winners, John Restuccia, Charlie Hort, Brett Jamieson and Marie Bowen
Surf Life Saving Sydney respects and acknowledges the traditional custodians across all the lands on which we live, work and patrol, and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Background Image credit: 'Eora Dreaming' depicts the community of the fifteen Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout Sydney, stretching from North Bondi south to Burning Palms in the Royal National Park - Artist 'Billy Reynolds', proud Dharawal and Yuin man.
The Sydney Branch RWC group have the responsibility of supporting our clubs as well as patrolling un-patrolled locations. This includes supporting carnivals and aquatic events to assisting in rescue incidents as and when required.
We have a terrific team of trained support personnel and are always looking for new members. We run courses throughout the year to ensure that our team remains fresh and vibrant. Our vessels are located in Sutherland and Malabar, as well as at a number of our Surf Clubs along the coast.
Our operators are proficient Bronze Medallion holders (Cert II Public Safety Aquatic Rescue) as well as being an ART (Advanced Resuscitation Technique) and First Aid award holder. They are current (financial) club members within Sydney Branch and must have a driver’s license. Plus we provide further training to ensure they are job ready to respond to any issue.
If you’re keen to join our RWC team, we’d love to hear from you.
