SR30 EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY.
To be able to perform vessel operations each season the crew, drivers and skippers must undertake training in line with AMSA established units of competency. Each course appropriate to the candidate’s level provides the required skills, and knowledge to effectively crew, drive or skipper the Offshore Rescue Boat (ORB) in patrol and surf rescue taskings. There are no specific units of competency offered under these SLS awards, however it is noted that each course is mapped to the equivalent criteria as outlined in AMSA EX24 and relevant components National Standards for Commercial Vessels – Part D (NSCV) for the safe operation of a Surf Life Saving Offshore Rescue Boat (AMSA defined ‘Volunteer Marine Rescue’ vessel).
For more information click on the relevant links to undertake training as either a crew, driver or skipper.
Find out details about the vessel, from it’s operations to training required, vessel capacity to equipment, tasking and navigation details. Check out the attached for all this and more.
